SharkClean is an app that you can download to your smartphone to map your rooms. After mapping, the app allows you to create an agenda for your robot to keep your home clean or select specific rooms to have the Matrix begin a cleaning session. You can also create zones that are 'no-go like closets or beds that you don't want Matrix to get into.
The app also allows you to utilize the "spot" cleaning on demand feature where you can choose a dirty area on your floor map and the robot will automatically traverse the area by repeatedly swiping its cleaning pad. It does a great job picking up everything from dog hair tangles to tiny bits of paper that were cut and scattered from a recent project.
The Matrix will return to its dock when it has finished cleaning and empty itself in the bin provided. This is a neat feature since it cuts down on the need to perform maintenance.
One thing to consider about this particular model is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is located right on top, which might prevent it from getting under some low-to-the-ground furniture, such as tables and sofas. If you're not worried about being a little taller than some other robots it's still a very good choice. Be aware that this robot doesn't come with an HEPA air filter, like some other models in this list.
